#Find and select a voice
Open the voice picker
Choose Voice on Dashboard. Your saved voices may appear in the small menu; choose Browse all voices… to open the full picker.
Search or browse
In ElevenLabs library, search by name or description, or paste a voice ID. Use All languages to narrow the results.
Listen
Press the play icon beside a voice. Press it again to stop. Preview playback is separate from selecting the voice.
Select and continue
Select the voice row, check the selected name, then press Continue.
#The three voice tabs
Use the star on a library voice to add it to Saved voices. Press the star again to remove the favorite. Saving a favorite does not create a voice clone.
The library offers Trending, Newest, Most used, and Most cloned sorting. Use Load more voices to continue through results. A disabled play button means that library entry has no preview sample available.
| Tab | What is inside |
|---|---|
| Custom voices | Voices you saved from your own recordings using Voice clone. |
| Saved voices | Library voices you starred for easy access. |
| ElevenLabs library | The searchable voice catalog with preview samples and descriptive tags. |
#What a preview tells you
Library previews are supplied samples: use them to compare the voice’s character and delivery. They do not narrate your project script or demonstrate every change you make to voice settings.
Custom voice previews use the current voice settings. Their first playback may show Preparing preview… while a sample is created. Changing the settings and pressing Play again prepares a matching preview when needed.
