Overlays

#Add something on top of the picture

An uploaded overlay appears above the underlying media instead of replacing it. Use one for a logo, a prepared QR code image, a call-to-action graphic, or a video insert.

Open Overlays beneath Media in the tool rail. Uploads is the first tab and includes compatible files from your library. Native is a separate tab marked coming soon; built-in QR and CTA creation tools are not available there yet.

#Add an overlay

New overlays normally last three seconds. If the next graphic or the end of the video is closer, the available range shortens that initial duration.

   Choose an empty time range

   Move the playhead to a part of the Graphics lane that is not occupied by another overlay or graphic.

   Choose your file

   Click Upload overlay to select a new file. A successful upload is also added at the playhead. To reuse a library file, click its card or drag it onto the timeline.

   Check the placement preview

   During a drag, a thumbnail follows the pointer until you reach the timeline. A translucent Graphics block then shows the proposed position and duration.

   Drop and refine

   Drop in an available range, then move or resize the overlay in the video preview.

#Position and resize

Select the overlay in the preview or click its timeline block. Drag inside its selection box to move it. Drag any corner handle to resize while keeping the file’s proportions. The full image or video remains visible inside the overlay area.

Turn on the magnet button for alignment guides at the center, frame edges, and inset margins. Turn it off when you want free placement. The overlay stays inside the video frame.

For precise changes, use X %, Y %, and Width % in Edit overlay. X and Y place the upper-left corner as a percentage of the frame. Width changes the size while preserving proportions. Name changes the label used on the timeline.

#Control when it appears

Drag the overlay block along the Graphics lane to move its time window. Select it and drag either edge to trim. You can also enter Start and End times in seconds in the side panel.

Uploaded overlays share one lane with graphics. They cannot overlap each other or an existing graphic. Move or shorten an existing item, or choose another empty range. Timing must stay inside the video and keep at least 0.1 seconds of duration.

Click Remove overlay in the side panel, or select the overlay and press Delete or Backspace, to remove it from the edit. Undo can restore it.

#Files, transparency, and sound

• Supported files: PNG, WebP, JPG, JPEG, MP4, WebM, and MOV.
• Use PNG or WebP when your image needs a transparent background. A JPG keeps its full rectangular background.
• Video overlays play from their beginning when the overlay starts. They loop if the time window is longer than the source video.
• An overlay video’s audio plays with the Sound effects level. Adjust it in Audio along with other effects.
• The overlay’s selection box and snapping guides are editing controls; they do not appear in the finished video.
