Editor troubleshooting

Resolve common selection, upload, playback, overlay, caption, and render problems.

#A click or drop does not do what I expect

Why does a media card not replace anything?

Select the target media clip first, then choose the replacement. Alternatively, drag the card onto that media block. Dropping an image or video in an uncovered gap does not create a new scene.

Why is a drop marked unavailable or blocked?

Read the placement message. Media needs a media target, copying a clip onto itself is blocked, and uploaded overlays need an unoccupied part of the Graphics lane. Choose the correct target or make room first.

Why can I not extend this clip?

A neighboring clip or a conflicting item blocks the available range. Shorten or move that item first. Turning snapping off does not remove overlap limits.

Why are there no trim handles?

Select the clip and zoom in. Very narrow blocks hide handles so you can still select them.

Why did Remove media leave an empty scene?

Removing media clears the picture while retaining its time slot and narration timing. Refill the slot from Media or use Undo.

#An upload is rejected or missing

What does “file contents do not match its extension” mean?

The file could not be read as the format indicated by its name. Export it again from the original application as a supported image or video. Changing only the filename extension does not convert a file.

Why is Upload media disabled?

Check whether another upload is in progress or the storage meter is full. Remove unneeded library files or review storage options in Settings.

Why does a library file not appear in Overlays?

The Overlays tab filters the library to PNG, WebP, JPG, JPEG, MP4, WebM, and MOV images or videos. Audio files, GIFs, and other formats are not overlay choices.

What if the upload succeeds but the overlay is not added?

The playhead may be inside an occupied Graphics range. Open Uploads, move the playhead to a free range, and add the existing file instead of uploading another copy.

#The preview looks or sounds wrong

The preview stops after I jump to another part.

Allow the new media to load, then pause and play again. If one scene repeatedly stays blank, inspect its asset and replace it if necessary. Reopen the project if playback remains stuck.

My overlay is not visible.

Move the playhead inside its Start and End window. Check that it is present on the Graphics lane and review its X, Y, and Width values. Selection controls only appear while the overlay is selected and playback is paused.

My video overlay has no sound.

Library thumbnails are muted. Play it in the main video preview, check device volume and the Sound effects fader, and confirm that the source video contains audio.

The caption edit no longer matches the rhythm.

Replacement words are spread evenly across the original line’s time window. Keep the text close to the spoken line and preview at 1× after saving.

My new map coordinates still show the old satellite image.

After editing the coordinates, click Update satellite map for these coordinates in the Locate map inspector and wait for the refresh.

The graphic theme changed in the catalog but not in the video.

Catalog swatches are previews. Use Change video theme to… and confirm, or choose a Theme inside the selected graphic’s inspector.

#Rendering or downloads need attention

Why is Render disabled?

An edit may still be saving, a render may already be running, or there may be no changes since the last completed render. Check the button hint and Renders panel.

Why can I not create a fourth render?

The project stores up to three renders. Download a version you want to keep, then delete that stored version to free a slot. Downloading alone does not make room.

Why is an old render missing my recent edits?

Each render is a saved video version. Preview the current timeline, then render again to include your changes.

A download has not appeared.

Check the browser’s download list and allow time for the file to start. Reopen the completed render and try its Download control again. If playback and download both fail, include that detail when contacting support.

#Give support the details that matter

If the problem persists, include the project link, browser and device, the approximate video time, and the visible error. For an upload issue, include its filename and format. A screenshot or short recording of the action helps show what changed and what you expected.
