#Apply a design
Select a timeline scene, then click a graphic card to apply it. You can also drag a card onto the timeline. Clicking a card without a selected scene prompts you to select one first.
Many titles, cards, counters, lower thirds, and callout arrows appear over the scene’s footage. Maps, charts, timelines, flows, framed exhibits, and other full-scene designs use the scene as their canvas. When you replace an existing full-scene graphic with another design, it remains a graphic scene.
Drop a graphic into an uncovered gap in the visual timeline to create a standalone graphic. It fills that gap and can then be trimmed. Uploaded overlays in the Graphics lane can block a placement, so check the drop preview before releasing.
#Edit the selected graphic
Click its block in the Graphics lane to open its content controls. Fields depend on the design: a name plate has a name and tag, a quote has attribution, and a chart has labels and values.
Text changes update the preview while you type. Character counters show how much space a field allows. List controls show their item count and allow adding or removing rows within the design’s limits. Review every sample value when adding a new design.
Some designs provide a Position menu or a Position on frame pad. Image-based graphics provide an Image control that opens Media so you can choose another picture. Graphic overlays also provide a Background switch to control the backing shade behind the design.
#Trim or remove a graphic
A graphic placed over footage has a separate block on the Graphics lane. Trim its edges to show it for only part of its host scene; it cannot extend beyond that scene. The media underneath keeps its own timing.
To remove a graphic overlay while retaining footage, select its Graphics block and choose Remove overlay. Standalone graphics added in the editor have a Delete graphic control. Original generated graphic scenes are edited or replaced rather than deleted as standalone additions.
