Generation and progress
Read the build screen, return to a running project, and recover a paused build.

#Wait for the upload to finish
After you confirm Create video, an attached recording uploads before the build begins. Keep the tab open while the upload progress is displayed. When project creation completes, Kinema takes you to the project’s progress page.
A team editor’s project may enter Awaiting approval. It starts after an owner or manager chooses Approve build, unless the workspace allows editors to build without approval.
#Read the progress page
The page shows the project title, an overall percentage, the current stage, completed stages, and an estimated remaining time when available. Different source choices can require different stages, so two videos do not necessarily move through identical screens.
A stage can take longer than its estimate. The page updates while the build is running; a pause in the percentage alone does not mean the project has failed.
#Leave and return
Once generation has started, you can close the tab. Reopen the project from Projects to see its current state. When the first cut is ready, the progress page opens the editor automatically.
The Build ready email preference controls the optional notification when a timeline is ready. Check Settings → Account → Email preferences if you want to receive it. Render ready is a separate preference for completed exports.
#Recover a paused project
If the page says Your video is being fixed, media recovery is already running for an existing cut. It reopens in the editor when ready.
Open Needs resume
Find the project in Projects and open it. Read the build message for anything that requires your attention.
Choose Resume project
Resume the existing project rather than submitting a duplicate. Kinema continues using completed work where possible.
Watch for progress
The status changes back to the build view. If the same failure returns, contact Support with the project link and visible error.
