#Editor shortcuts

When you are typing, normal text editing takes priority. Clip copy/paste works within the current editor session; select a timeline clip before using it. Removing media leaves its time slot; deleting an uploaded overlay removes that overlay.

ActionShortcut
Play / pauseSpace, outside text fields and other active controls.
UndoCommand+Z on Mac; Ctrl+Z on Windows.
RedoCommand+Shift+Z on Mac; Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y on Windows.
Copy selected clipCommand+C / Ctrl+C.
Paste onto selected clipCommand+V / Ctrl+V after copying a different clip.
Remove selected media or uploaded overlayDelete or Backspace.
Save caption textEnter.
New line in caption editorShift+Enter.
Close caption editor without savingEscape.

#Position an uploaded overlay

Arrow nudges move by one preview pixel; Shift uses ten. They provide fine adjustment without snapping. You can also enter X %, Y %, or Width % in Edit overlay.

ActionControl

#Finished-video player shortcuts

These shortcuts apply while a completed render is open in its player, rather than to the editor timeline.

Mute / unmuteM.
Toggle fullscreenF.
Exit fullscreen or close the playerEscape.

#Pointer and touch gestures

  • Drag a selected clip edge to trim; drag an uploaded overlay block to move its time window.
  • Drag along the ruler or an empty lane to scrub.
  • Use vertical wheel motion or a trackpad pinch over the timeline to zoom, and horizontal motion to scroll.
  • Drag an asset from a tool panel onto the timeline, then use the placement preview to choose the target.
